Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative said in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to Brussels during the flight.
This event does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has experienced equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to return to Washington after suffering a mechanical problem.
