Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans offered condolences for the star in the following the terrible crash.
